The farther east you continue along the loop, the curvier things get, culminating in a northern shoreline that consists of a series of undulating peaks and troughs.

You are able to go fishing and ride boats in the lake. The lake even provides rentals for you to go out and enjoy. Please keep in mind these are permitted activities so even if you bring your own kayak you will need to get a permit. More information can be found on the Rocky Mountain Recreation website. The trail is a loop so it is best to plan on doing the full loop or knowing when you want to turn around to head back.

On the bicycle it was very enjoyable and did not take very long to complete. If I was looking for more distance could have easily added extra laps around the lake.
